Pictures of the Year (POTY Contest)

It's that time of the year when I gather up all my digital files and go through the thousands of images taken in the past year to come up with a few worthy for inclusion in my annual calendars. You might say it is a picture of the year contest- or more precisely pictures of the year. There are so many that I want to use in my favorites list and it really is hard to pick the best ones. But each year there's usually one or two that stand out and this year I have that situation.

Last year it was Nick Tandy in a Porsche 911RSR on two wheels going around the first left bend in the chicane at the end of the main straight at Sahlen's Six Hours of the Glen. I was even lucky enough to have his autograph an 8X10 print of it! ( That's a story for another blog post)

This year it is a dramatic shot of a Jaguar belching fire out of the side exhaust rounding the left hander after exiting the 'boot' at the US Vintage Grand Prix on September 11th at Watkins Glen. Timing was everything to get that shot. That's what got it into the finals and the top pick this year.
